In this session, we will discuss the root causes of child poverty and how it leads to increases in violent crime, poor learning outcomes, and dangerous levels of hunger. We will also learn how to identify ACES and the lasting impact of trauma on a person’s life. Lastly, we will hear from experts to understand why comprehensive healthcare improves child outcomes in every aspect of life and what needs to be done to help our kids.

Are Tennessee’s children really receiving everything they need to thrive and succeed? When children live in poverty, not only do they suffer but it negatively affects society as a whole. In the richest nation in the world, child poverty doesn’t have to exist. In a country where 40% of all food is wasted, child hunger doesn’t have to exist. Join us to learn from leading experts about how other nations and states are addressing these problems, what we need to do locally to help kids, and why investing in our children and their mothers help to build a better society and strengthen our economy overall.
