Welcome to the 2021 TN NADD conference hosted by the TN-NADD Board and the UT-Knoxville virtual team. Our theme this year is The Past, The Present, and Future: How the Pandemic Has Changed Service Delivery. Over the past year and a half, the world has experienced unprecedented challenges including challenges in how services for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities have been provided. Tennessee, like many states, was placed in a unique moment in history to develop a systemic response while continuing to evolve service delivery standards. The past year has provided the opportunity for systems to highlight the needs, leverage technology, address workforce challenges, and ensure communication. All of these factors are challenging during what we now term “normal” times, but became even more critical during stressful times. Tennessee appears to have evolved services to continue providing what was wanted and what was needed. We have an obligation to look at what is working and what has not worked as we move forward.
