Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) Introductory/Clinical Training, June 2024

Date: June 06, 2024 to June 07, 2024

Time: 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Location: Live Zoom Webinar

Thursday and Friday, June 6-7, 2024

Rachel Hundley, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics and Psychiatry
Dr. Hundley is a certified ADOS trainer.

The ADOS-2 has become the standard instrument for assessing autism spectrum disorders (ASD) across age, developmental level, and language skills. The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD) is sponsoring a 2 day virtual workshop where you will learn how to use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) to help assess and diagnose ASD. This training course offers detailed, initial training for people who plan to use the ADOS-2. This training is necessary for anyone planning to use the ADOS-2 in clinical or school settings, and is the first step of training for use of the ADOS-2 in research.

The goals of this workshop are to provide a detailed overview of the ADOS-2, its development, its psychometric properties, and appropriate use and interpretation. Specifically, objectives include how the ADOS-2 targets behaviors specific to autism spectrum disorders, ADOS-2 administration and introduction to coding conventions, and how to appropriately document use of the ADOS-2 in a report. Demonstrations of the measure are provided each day, involving live administration of the ADOS-2 by the trainer with individuals with ASD. Participants have the opportunity to practice scoring while observing the instructor administer the ADOS-2. Detailed discussions on scoring of the ADOS-2 follow each demonstration.

Psychologists, pediatricians, behavioral specialists, and speech and language pathologists will be accepted for this advanced level training. Other individuals who regularly assess children with ASD or developmental disabilities are encouraged to apply and their application will be reviewed.

Fee: $400 per person. We are unable to process POs. We can accept payment via credit card or checks
