Celeste Helling, M.A., CCC-SLP, ATP

Celeste Helling received her Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas. Her background includes assistive technology service delivery for children and adults with developmental and acquired disabilities. She is credentialed as an Assistive Technology Practitioner by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Professional honors include the 2008 Honors of the Association from the North Carolina Augmentative Communication Association, the 2009 AT Award of Excellence for her work as an AT Professional from the North Carolina Assistive Technology Expo, and the 2011 Vocational Rehabilitation All-Star Award for Creativity.

This workshop examines components of AAC assessment and how to link findings to interventions for children with all types of disabilities that will lead to meaningful outcomes. Participants will view video of student cases and discuss observations and next steps. Workshop includes iPad benefits and limitations, apps, accessories, resources, and implementation ideas. A DVD with assessment resources, articles, and tools will be provided.

For speech-language pathologists, special educators, other professionals in related fields, students, parents, and family members. * May attend workshop without attending Thursday’s presentation. This workshop will be offered for .6 ASHA CEU’s (intermediate level; professional area).

Registration: $175 professionals, $50 students/parents. $125 Group Rate for 2 or more persons from the same agency or organization who register at the same time.* Workshop fee includes lunch, breaks, and instructional resources.
