A monthly workshop series for parents of young children with an autism spectrum disorder.
Program is free of charge.
Each 3-hour workshop focuses on providing parents and caregivers with strategies to use at home, school, and in the community. The strategies discussed are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
This workshop delves into the functions of communication (requesting, commenting, gaining attention, etc.) and explains how those skills may develop differently in children with autism. The majority of the presentation focuses on teaching caregivers strategies to promote engagement and increase social communication skills in their daily interactions with their children.
