Increasing Academic Engagement for All: High-Quality Education

Are you seeking strategies and knowledge to improve your ability to provide academic instruction to students with ASD and other disabilities? “Increasing Academic Engagement for All: High-Quality Education” is a one-day workshop that highlights best practices in instructional design and delivery. The workshop includes various routines for teaching reading, writing, and math. The workship will be held in Knoxville on April 2 from 8:30 to 3:30.

Participant Requirements	Teach reading, writing, and/or math to students in kindergarten through eighth grade Attend the in-person workshop for the full day (8:30-3:30)
Training Topics	Best practices for academic instruction Routines and supports for teaching core academic areas The gradual release model Appropriate learning targets and corresponding instructional materials
Workshop Format	Large group instruction, modeling, and discussion Small group application Individualized goals and action plans
Proof of Attendance	Attendees will receive 6 hours of professional development hours for attending. Participants must attend the full day to receive the 6 professional development hours.
