TABS Chat: Effective Communication with Families
March 22, 5:00-6:30 p.m. CT
Join Tennessee Adult Brothers and Sisters (TABS) for this free virtual conversation specifically for siblings of people with disabilities about navigating communication within our families. This will be an open discussion where siblings can feel free to share their own stories, ask questions, or just listen and learn from fellow siblings. We’ll focus on sharing challenges and lessons learned around communicating effectively with our family members (parents, siblings with and without disabilities, partners/children, etc.), especially related to planning for the future. Sessions are not recorded, and everything said will be confidential.
TABS is led by the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
Note: Siblings and sibling supporters (parents, self-advocates, professionals) are welcome to join this chat, including those outside of TN. However, the discussion will be focused on the needs and perspectives of brothers and sisters of people with disabilities.
