TABS Chat: Understanding Disability Policy and Supporting Our Siblings to Vote
September 22, 5:30-6:30 p.m. CT

Guest Speaker: Brian Keller, General Counsel and Policy Director, TN Council on Developmental Disabilities

Public policy that impacts people with disabilities and their families can be complex and confusing. Join this discussion to learn about some of the major issues impacting Americans with disabilities and families right now. Attendees will learn about resources for staying up to date on disability policy and ways to support our siblings with disabilities with voting. This election year is a great time to get informed and share our families’ stories with policymakers whose decisions impact our lives.

Do you have specific bills or policy topics you want to learn more about during the event? Share your ideas and questions with Brian at brian.keller@tn.gov by Sept. 9.

Brian joined the Council staff in 2021 as its first General Counsel attorney. Prior to that, he worked closely with the Council for several years as the Public Policy and Voting Attorney at Disability Rights Tennessee. His main responsibilities are overseeing legislative and public policy work and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. Brian has a disability and is dedicated to giving back to the disability community.

TABS is led by the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
