TABS Chat Holiday Happy Hour
December 8, 5:00-6:00 p.m. CT
The holiday season can be a joyful time, but also come with some stressors. If you have a sibling with disabilities, family gatherings may feel extra complicated. Or you may be separated from your sibling(s) this season and be wondering how to connect in meaningful ways from a distance. We get it!
Join us for this casual virtual holiday happy hour for adult siblings of people with disabilities and meet some fellow “sibs”! You can bring your favorite family holiday memories and stories to share, suggest tips for supporting our siblings during gatherings, ask our group about any concerns you may have, or just tune in to listen to others share. TABS Chats are free and open to anyone who considers themselves a sibling to someone with disabilities/mental health conditions/special healthcare needs (including those outside of TN, “sibs-in-law”or partners of siblings of people with disabilities, and those whose siblings have passed away).
Note: for this event only, we will record our conversation. A local reporter interested in learning about issues impacting siblings of people with disabilities may join us, but no names/stories will be shared outside of the event without explicit permission. If you have any questions or concerns, email emma.shouse@tn.gov.
