About Our Presenter : Shannon Jones is the Aging Program Administrator for the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging. She is currently responsible for the Information & Assistance and Emergency Preparedness programs. She coordinates this work through the nine area agencies on aging and disability across the state. Previously, Shannon was the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Director which assists Medicare beneficiaries with understanding Medicare benefits and conducting outreach.
Shannon is currently serving on the Inform USA Certification Commission and the Tennessee State Government Leadership Council as the chair of the Black Belt Program. She has served as the Chair of the National State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Steering Committee through the Administration for Community Living.
Shannon has a Bachelor of Science in Education in Public Health, a Master of Public Health (concentration in Health Administration), and is a retired Nursing Home Administrator. Shannon has worked in the field of aging for 32 years with the mission to help improve the quality of life of older Tennesseans.
