Staff members of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center's TennesseeWorks employment initiative and community partners were on hand for the Governor's 60th Annual Economic Community Development Conference, held Oct. 3-4 at the brand-new Music City Center in downtown Nashville.
TennesseeWorks Partnership members and staff persons manned one of the booths at the conference, which welcomed several hundred guests from across the state. Those participating in the conference included state senators and representatives, mayors, city councilmen and councilwomen, and representatives from developmental districts, community developers, and large businesses. TennesseeWorks shared information about the desire of individuals with disabilities to work as well as Governor Bill Haslam's Employment First Initiative for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Next on TennesseeWorks' schedule is its Inaugural Employment Summit and Statewide Community Conversation on Monday, Oct. 21, at Vanderbilt University's Student Life Center. For more information about that event or to register to attend, click here.
