Selecting appropriate methods for assessing outcomes of intervention studies or clinical trials is a complicated but important endeavor. Consistent with the complexity of the issues involved, Vanderbilt Kennedy Center investigators who conduct research with individuals with ASD and other developmental disabilities employ a wide range of outcome assessment approaches. These include standardized behavioral measures, clinician judgment, sophisticated observational techniques, EEG/ERP, eye tracking, functional neuroimaging, and biological markers of emotional arousal and stress. Please join in the conversation as a panel of experts from Psychology, Psychiatry, and Special Education present information about their research programs and the strengths and challenges associated with their choices of assessment procedures.
