SENSE Theatre, the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, and the University School of Nashville will present the play "Mergatroid and the Candy Store" on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 7 and 8, at 7:00 p.m. at Belmont University's Troutt/Black Box Theatre, located on Compton Avenue near Belmont Boulevard.

Written by Blythe Corbett, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, and directed by Catherine Coke with music by Ed Bazel and Tammy Vice and lyrics by Corbett, "Mergatroid and the Candy Store" is the story of a curious boy who longs for a real friend. By escaping into tasty temptation his imaginary friend makes him visible as his dream comes to life!<'p>

"Mergatroid and the Candy Store" is the capstone performance of the first SENSE Theatre Winter Camp, a 10-week experience for youths with autism spectrum disorders and peer actors. Both performances are open to the public. Performances are free, but advance reservation is recommended as seating is limited.
