The Analysis of Genomic Data: A Primer
Yaomin Xu, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, presented his lecture titled "The Analysis of Genomic Data: A Primer" on Monday, Oct. 24, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in Room 241 of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center.
The advance of high-throughput sequencing of genomic, epigenomic, and transcriptomic features have generated huge amounts of data on a large number of patients. These data provide an unprecedented opportunity for understanding the molecular basis of disease as well as biomarker discovery for optimal therapeutic strategies. The analyses of these data are challenging and require the parallel advancement of computational tools to manage and to interpret them efficiently.
In this talk, Dr. Yaomin Xu gave an introductory review of recent bioinformatics and biostatistics data analysis strategies of next-generation sequencing data and its application to translational research and personalized medicine.
