VKC Special Lecture: Rett Syndrome: A Prototypic Neurodevelopmental Disorder

Jeffrey Neul, M.D., Ph.D., Division Chief of Neurology, Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, and Professor of Neurosciences and Pediatrics, University of California, San Diego, presented a lecture titled "Rett Syndrome: A Prototypic Neurodevelopmental Disorder" on Friday, Dec. 16, at 12:00 p.m. in Room 241 of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, located at 110 Mangolia Circle, Nashville. Dr. Neul is a native of Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his medical and doctorate degrees from the University of Chicago and completed his residency and fellowship in child neurology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. Neul is also the Vice Chair for Developmental Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego. He is an internationally recognized expert in genetic neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically Rett syndrome. He conducts clinical research and clinical trials on Rett syndrome, genetic research to identify other genetic causes of neurodevelopmental disorders, and translational research using disease models to identify and test novel treatment modalities for these disorders.
