Andrea (McDermott) Sanders, M.Ed. '06, has been running the Country Music Marathon for 10 years to raise money for Team William, an endowment that provides VKC Reading Clinic scholarships for children with Down syndrome. Andrea was inspired through her years of working with William Spickard who was 7 years old when they first met. Saturday, Apr. 26, was the tenth and final year that Andrea ran 26.2 miles through the streets of Nashville for Team William. After the race, a celebration was held, and the Spickards thanked Andrea for her years of dedication not only to their son but also to young readers in Tennessee.
