Educate to Advocate Virtual Public Policy Workshop
This lecture was presented on October 3, 2022.
Whatever our perspective – trainees and students, researchers, health care professionals, service providers, educators, individuals with disabilities or family members, or simply concerned citizens – we see ways that the disability service system can be improved. One dimension of changing service systems is educating legislators and other public policy makers.
This virtual workshop will feature:
- A refresher on how a bill becomes a law;
- Hot topics in state and federal disability policy;
- Perspectives from a former Vanderbilt Kennedy Center trainee on how her training prepared her to become a disability advocate; and
- Information on why your vote matters and how to register!
