VKC mourns the loss of Britt Henderson Training Series co-founder Carol Henderson

By: Elizabeth Turner

The faculty and staff of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center are sad to learn of the recent passing of Carol Henderson on July 30 at the age of 92.

Carol and her late husband Robert Henderson were instrumental in establishing the Britt Henderson Training Series for Educators, an annual series of workshops that provide training for school teams of both general and special educators that focus on innovative evidence-based practices to improve the quality of education for students with diverse learning needs. Founded in 1996, BHTS workshops have been offered at no cost to participating schools through an endowment from the Henderson family in memory of their son Britt.

A full obituary and information on a Celebration of Life scheduled for Aug. 24 at Currey Ingram Academy may be found by clicking here.

We extend our deepest condolences to Carol's children, grandchildren, family, and friends during this difficult time.
