VKC representatives participate in Disability Policy Seminar

Representatives of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities, The Arc Tennessee, Disability Law and Advocacy Center Tennessee and self-advocates attended Tennessee Tuesdays hosted by Tennessee Sens. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker during the national Disability Policy Seminar. Those attending included (from left) Wanda Willis, Frank Meeuwis, Elise McMillan, Ann Curl, Sen. The national Disability Policy Seminar, held annually in Washington, is an opportunity from educators, advocates, family members, self-advocates and policy makers to meet and learn more about key issues affecting people with disabilities and their families. The national meeting is a join project of the Association of University Centers on Disability, The Arc U.S., the national Association of Councils on Disabilities, and other national organizations.

Topics covered include long term services and supports, education and early intervention, health care, transportation, postsecondary education and other key topics. For more information, click here.
