Overview of Interests

In early intervention/early childhood special education (EI/ECSE), research is focused on identifying the most effective practices related to improved and positive outcomes for young children with disabilities and their families. However, a documented and significant gap remains between research and practice in EI/ECSE (Hebbeler, Spiker, & Kahn, 2012; Odom, 2009). Dr. Erin Barton's research focuses on narrowing this gap. She is focused on identifying and ensuring children with disabilities receive evidence-based services and supports in high quality, inclusive settings.
