Overview of Interests
Dr. Chang's research develops engineering and computational techniques for investigating human brain function. In one line of work, her lab integrates multi-modal imaging signals (EEG, fMRI, peripheral physiology) to examine the dynamics of large-scale brain activity and behavioral states such as alertness and attention. A second direction develops signal analysis techniques to identify markers of brain activity associated with individual differences in neurocognitive function and brain disorders; they have carried out applications of these methods in developmental disorders. A third branch of our research strives to improve fMRI and EEG data quality, and these techniques can also be applied to datasets in the IDDRC.
