Overview of Interests

Dr. Claassen is a Board-certified neurologist who directs the Vanderbilt Huntington's Disease Center of Excellence.The Center's mission is to improve the lives of patients and families that suffer from HD. Part of this work is helping children of HD parents, who are at risk of developing HD. To this end, Dr. Claassen's work looks at the cognitive, behavioral, and motor symptoms in pediatric and young adult populations. Specifically, they assess impulsivity, self regulation of behavior, and how childhood stress can influence these behaviors.
