Overview of Interests

Dr. Harris is a professor of biomedical informatics and biomedical engineering with approximately 15 years experience working in the field of clinical and translational research informatics. He serves as director of the Vanderbilt University Office of Research Informatics and has extensive experience in the field of clinical and translational research. Dr. Harris devised and created REDCap (www.project-redcap.org), a data collection toolset that has seen widespread adoption by approximately 734 institutional and non-profit partners across six continents. He also created and run a national program (www.researchmatch.org) designed to match volunteers wishing to volunteer for studies and researchers recruiting patients. This registry is serving approximately 42,000 research 'volunteers' and 1700 researchers at 83 partner institutions.
