Overview of Interests
Dr. Elizabeth Martin practices pediatric rehabilitation medicine at the Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, working to improve functional outcomes for children with physical disabilities including from cerebral palsy, traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and neural tube defects, other neuromuscular conditions, oncologic-related impairments, and orthopedic conditions. Her research looks at outcomes and quality of life among children with disabilities receiving rehabilitation services, with past projects including investigating quality of life through the course of inpatient rehabilitation following a new functional impairment, and current projects looking at barriers to children and families receiving recommended rehabilitation interventions in the state of Tennessee.
