Overview of Interests
Dr. Siciliano's research program focuses on understanding the neural circuit and receptor mechanisms that underlie maladaptive decision making in neuropsychiatric disease states. He studied both the basic mechanisms of learning, perception, decision making, and assess how these mechanisms are altered by experience to produce disease states. To address these questions, Dr. Siciliano develops disease models in rodents and leverage pharmacology and sophisticated optical technologies to investigate these phenomenon from the level of behavior to single synapses.
