Young Children’s Speech Development

Description

Volunteer for Research at Vanderbilt University Child Language and Literacy Lab. Help us explore children’s speech development.

What children will do:

• Listen to words and sentences and point to pictures on an iPad
• Label pictures
• Repeat sentences while looking at story pictures
• Talk about favorite activities for 5 minutes

Research activities will take no more than 90 minutes.

Melanie Schuele, PhD, CCCSLP, is coordinating this study. She and her graduate students will complete study activities with children.

Participant Criteria

Children who are 4 years or 5 years of age who may or may not have speech articulation difficulties

Compensation

Participants will receive up to $40 as compensation for their time.
