Interviewing with Job Interview Simulators and Asynchronous Video Interviews

Principal Investigator: Nilanjan Sarkar, Ph.D.

Description

The purpose of this study is to learn how individuals on the Autism Spectrum perform in simulated job interviews and video interviews. We are looking for individuals to help us learn about how Artificial Intelligence may be helpful in preparing autistic teenagers and adults for asynchronous video interviews.

Study details:

  • 1-2 visits to Vanderbilt University, each lasting a little over an hour.
  • Participant will wear a small wristband sensor and their eyes will be tracked on a computer screen.
  • The study is desktop-based, and no VR headsets will be used.
  • They may be asked to complete a 15-minute virtual artificial intelligence-based job interview simulation after which they may choose to receive feedback from a coach.
  • They will return to complete another 15 minute job interview with a video interview platform HireVue, or may only go through the video interview in one visit.
  • Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two study groups-one in which they only complete the video interview, and the other in which they go through both, the job interview simulation and the video interview. They may not choose their group.

Participant Criteria

Individuals with and without autism who are 16 years or older, are verbal, and speak fluent English.

Compensation
