Transforming Hospitalizations With Telehealth

Principal Investigator: Zachary E. Warren, Ph.D.

Description

We are interested in learning how to best to design telehealth technologies to support delivery of behavioral services to adolescents with autism in hospital settings. We need to better understand what type of telehealth systems could support meaningful care as well as challenges faced by individuals, family members, and clinical staff during hospitalizations. You are invited to participate in this study if you are the parent of a child with autism (between ages 12 years and 17 years, 11 months).

What does the study involve:

Parents and their child will participate in one 90-minute visit at Vanderbilt. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will ask parents questions to help understand their child's interests and preferences. The BCBA will use the telehealth tool while he/she talks to you. You will answer some questions and complete some forms about your experience and the tool.

Participant Criteria

Parent and their child with autism between 12 years and 17 years, 11 months of age.

Compensation

Parent and child will each be given a $100 gift card for participation in the session.
