Principal Investigator: Miriam Lense, Ph.D.

Description

Help us learn about language development in children 6-36 months of age with or without autism or expressive language disorder. In this research study, children receive assessments of developmental and social communication skills, participate in play sessions, and watch a short movie of people talking, singing, and playing for research purposes. Families receive feedback on their child's development and can receive a written report with results, recommendations, and referrals at no cost through the research study.

Children will be asked to:

  • Complete play-based measures of developmental and communications skills
  • Watch videos and listen to sounds on a computer screen.
  • Parents will complete several questionnaires
  • Families may also be invited to participate in follow-up study visits

Results of developmental testing and communication assessments will be provided at no cost. Families can receive a written report with results, recommendations, and referrals at no cost.
