Is your child’s speech hard to understand?

Description

The Child Language and Literacy Lab at VUMC is looking for school-age children with persistent speech sound disorders to participate in a study.

Children must be between 9 and 17 years of age with normal hearing and have multiple speech errors such that their speech is at least sometimes difficult for others to understand.

Children with medical diagnoses of autism, cerebral palsy, cleft lip/palate, Down syndrome, fragile X, hearing loss, or traumatic brain injury are NOT eligible to participate.

In this study, your child may:

  • Attend virtual study visit(s)
  • Complete reading, writing, and spelling tasks over the computer
  • Participate in 2-3 hours of testing
