Pablo Juárez named president-elect of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities

The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center (VKC) is thrilled to share that Pablo Juárez, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA, co-director of the VKC University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and TRIAD, the Autism Institute at the VKC, has been confirmed as president-elect of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD).

AUCD is a national network dedicated to advancing policy, research, education, and service to improve the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Juárez’s election to this role reflects his longstanding commitment to innovation in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In his leadership roles at Vanderbilt, Juárez has built bridges within communities, the state, and the nation by directing TRIAD and UCEDD activities that promote best practices in supports and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and helping to bring systematic change for growth in service provision. He has championed community-informed approaches, ethical considerations in the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis, and collaborative initiatives that strengthen disability rights.

“Pablo has been a powerful leader and catalyst for change in our own state these past two decades in terms of supporting individuals with disabilities and community care systems,” said Zachary Warren, Ph.D., director of the Division of Developmental Medicine and executive director of TRIAD. “The impact of programs he has built, influenced, and aligned has been remarkable in our own back yard. It is truly exciting to think about how he will be able to further this work and mission on a national scale.”

As president-elect, Juárez will help guide AUCD’s strategic vision and foster partnerships across its national network.

“I am honored to serve AUCD in this capacity and look forward to working with colleagues nationwide to advance research, training, and service for individuals with disabilities,” said Juárez.
