Overview of Interests
Dr. Kujawa's research program examines the development of emotional processing, including reward responsiveness and emotion regulation, and how atypical development of these processes contributes to vulnerability for mood disorders. Her work integrates multiple measures of emotion (behavioral, physiological, neural) and aims to create developmentally-appropriate and reliable lab-based methods for assessing emotion in children and adolescents. The ultimate goals of this work are to identify new targets for intervention, work towards more personalized approaches to treatment, and reduce the burden of mood disorders.
