Description
This study aims to determine whether feedback and the spacing of trials increase how well children who are deaf and hard of hearing learn and retain new words. We use a single case research design with 5- to 8-year-old children who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Participant Number of Visits
Specific number depends on how quickly the child learns the words; approximately 3 times per week for 2-3 months
Participant Criteria
5- to 8-year-old children who are deaf and hard of hearing and use spoken English (may also use sign language)
Compensation
$25 for eligibility session; $200 for completing word learning sessions
