Description
The Mood, Emotion, and Development Lab at Vanderbilt University is doing a study to understand the development of positive emotions and mental health in children. We are looking for mothers who have at least one child between the ages of 4 and 6. Eligible families are invited to participate in three waves of the study over a two-year period. Secondary caregivers are also invited to participate in all three waves, though their involvement is optional.
Each wave includes:
- A virtual interview with mothers on Zoom (~2 hours), where they will answer questions about their and their child's current and past moods and feelings.
- If interested, the child's secondary caregiver completes a Zoom interview (30 minutes) and fill out questionnaires (30 minutes) about their current and past moods and feelings.
- An in-person lab visit (~2 hours), where the mother complete surveys while their child completes an EEG. After the EEG, the mother and child will complete two brief interaction tasks.
Mothers will complete another virtual interview and in-person lab visit during waves 2 and 3. Mothers, secondary caregivers, and their child will be compensated for each visit. Mothers and secondary caregivers will receive a gift card by email after completing each virtual and in-person visit.
Mothers can complete an interest form with their contact information. This form can be accessed online through the following link: https://redcap.link/CAREscreener
