Implementation Science (Core A)

Implementation is the process by which evidence-based practices (EBP) are optimally integrated into practice and policy. Successful implementation requires an understanding of contextual factors that may influence adoption, and frequently involves adaptation of the EBP to the characteristics, personnel, and resources of specific settings, whether they are healthcare systems or communities. Explicit attention to implementation is critical to ensure real-world utilization of impactful research findings and to improve the lives of people with IDD.
