Overview of Interests

My research focuses on the role of visuospatial cognition in learning and intelligent behavior, especially in developmental disabilities such as autism, learning disabilities, etc. I use methods from artificial intelligence to build computational models of reasoning that can be used as testbeds to better understand how differences in basic cognitive processes (memory, attention, etc.) affect behavior, with a particular emphasis on understanding individual variability in cognitive processing. My research also includes developing new technology-enabled approaches that aim to improve methods for cognitive assessment and educational intervention for individuals with developmental disabilities.
