Fiscal and Resource Management (Core A)

Core A provides overall fiscal and resource management of the IDDRC. With Vanderbilt University Medical Center support, the core also provides grant development services and services related to philanthropy.

  • Grants Support

    Management of complex IDD-related grants and contracts. Staff provides a full suite of pre-and post-award services, i.e., assembly and submission of grant applications to federal funding agencies; budget development; justification for competing and non-competing applications; complying with university and granting agency policies and procedures; fiscal reporting and financial status reports.

    Post-award services include providing up-to-date information on policies and procedures of various granting agencies and the institution; providing fiscal reporting and financial status reports on funded projects; providing personnel services for investigators and their staff; providing quotations for research-related equipment; and purchasing supplies for investigators.

    Budget development and justification for competing and noncompeting NIH applications; fiscal services for Center, budget consultation and training for investigators and research staff, personnel and payroll, travel assistance, purchasing and accounts payable support, inventory control.

  • VKC Internal Grant Award Information

    The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center administers an internal grant to support the research of its members. The Hobbs Discovery Strategic Priorities Awards (new 2023) is awarded annually through a competive process.

  • Development

    Fiscal and Resource Management administers development-generated funds to ensure that donor’s funds are used to maximize their investment in the center and to comply with their intent.
