Training and Education
Training and education related to intellectual and developmental disabilities is provided year-round for multiple audiences, including predoctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, faculty researchers, clinicians, professionals in a wide range of disciplines, disability service providers, and individuals with disabilities and family members. The IDDRC community guides activities through an annual call for lecture series nominations and Lecture Committee appointed by the Director, faculty proposals for research conferences and workshops, and IDDRC core-led training. Journal Clubs
Events
Communications staff plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage events. These include Lectures on Human Development and Developmental Disabilities, Clinical and Translational Research Series, Neuroscience Graduate Program Seminars, Research Ethics Grand Rounds, Core-sponsored training, annual Science Day, special lectures, research conferences, a lay-language lecture series, and meetings. Researchers may propose events or schedule meetings with guest lecturers.
Services include:
Event planning
Handling correspondence; arranging transportation, lodging, and meals
Planning agenda and arranging meeting facilities
Producing and disseminating preliminary and final agendas or programs
Handling publicity
Managing on-line registration and follow-up evaluation
Arranging technical support
Processing reimbursement of lecturers or conference participants
Coordinating reservation for Room 241 research event space
(reservation form and policies)
